JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) revealed that the company's interest in crypto assets continues to increase.
As of January 2025, OJK noted that 556 institutional investors had invested in digital assets.
Although the number of institutional crypto investors is still small when compared to the total crypto investors in Indonesia who have reached 19.2 million people, the Chief Executive of the Financial Sector Technology Innovation Supervisory, Digital Financial Assets, and OJK Crypto Assets, Hasan Fawzi believes the growth potential is still very large.
Responding to these developments, Tokocrypto CEO Calvin Kizana stated that this trend is proof of the company's increasing confidence in crypto assets, and marks a new growth phase for the national digital asset industry.
"Although the number of institutional investors is still hundreds, the impact on the market can be very significant because institutions usually have a much larger investment capacity than retail investors," Calvin said in a statement quoted on Sunday, December 7.

He said that the institution's support shows a stronger level of trust in digital assets in Indonesia, as well as being an indicator that the domestic crypto market is moving towards a more mature and sustainable growth phase.
We see companies, both domestic and global, increasingly mature in their approach to crypto assets. They no longer see it as a temporary trend, but as a serious component in modern asset management," he said further.
"This is a huge momentum transformation for the Indonesian financial industry, and we want to be part of its acceleration," Calvin concluded.
