JAKARTA - After launching its first cloud region in Indonesia six months ago, Microsoft again announced the availability of the latest cloud and artificial intelligence (AI) services in the Indonesia Central cloud region.

President Director of Microsoft Indonesia, Dharma Simorangkir, revealed that this latest service will further strengthen the foundation for organizations in Indonesia to develop next-generation AI-based solutions.

"With the latest Cloud and AI services currently present in Indonesia Central, we open up opportunities for every organization to innovate in Indonesia, for Indonesia," Dharma said in a statement Tuesday, November 25.

This capability is further strengthened by Microsoft 365 Copilot which is also locally available through the Indonesia Central cloud region, which brings AI directly into productivity workflows, as well as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft's AI-powered tool that accelerates developer productivity and code-making.

Since its launch in May 2025, Dharma said, the Indonesia Central cloud region has continued to record rapid growth. Various organizations from various industries, have maximized this local infrastructure to modernize operations and strengthen their data governance.

Today's announcement further strengthens Microsoft's long-term commitment of US$1.7 billion for the period 2024 to 2028 in encouraging cloud and AI infrastructure, ecosystem development, and programs to improve skills in Indonesia.
