Google Inaugurates New AI Engineering Center In Taipei, US And Taiwan Compact Calls New Era Of Technology Begins

JAKARTA Google has again raised its level of play in Asia by opening up the latest AI infrastructure hardware engineering center in Taipei, their largest facility outside the United States. Taiwan's President Lai Ching-te called this move proof that the island is still the most trusted friend of the learning group in the global technology chain, especially in the increasingly violent AI era.

The opening of this center features Lai Ching-te, Director of the American Institute in Taiwan Raymond Greene, and Aamer Mahmood as vice president of Google Cloud for engineering infrastructure platforms. President Lai said Google's presence shows the world that Taiwan is not just an important point in supply chain, but also home to safe and trusted AI development. Google started an infrastructure engineering team in Taiwan in 2020. In five years, the number of workers has tripled, and now hundreds of engineers will have offices in the latest facility. Google has also operated two consumer hardware development centers in Taiwan and a data center since 2013, plus their investment in international subsea cables.
