JAKARTA - Canva is committed to continuing to support the quality education digitization program run by the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, with the expansion of access to learning technology throughout Indonesia, including the 3T area (be left behind, frontier, outermost).

Since the collaboration that began in 2021, the collaboration between Canva and the Ministry of Education has resulted in significant growth in the use of the Canva for Education platform among teachers and students.

Until now, more than 6.7 million students and educators in Indonesia have used the Canva for Education to support creative and collaborative learning.

This figure increased from about 5.2 million users last year, with millions of educational designs produced every month. Through integration with a learning account.id, as many as 18.9 million accounts now have direct access to Canva Education.

"So the growth is extraordinary. And now there are also 2.7 million active users. Active users, in their sense, use it every month, yes. So in terms of extraordinary growth, it is very significant," said Canva Education Lead for Indonesia and Southeast Asia, Pipit Indrawati on Tuesday, November 11.

However, Pipit emphasized that their goal is not only about increasing users, but how Canva can be useful for presenting quality learning systems, in accordance with the government's vision.

"But what we want here is not only how many use but also its utilization. So that in terms of use it is indeed useful to provide fun and deep learning to students," he said.

To provide maximum benefits, Pipit said that Canva is also active in organizing training and roadshows for more than 92,000 teachers in 38 provinces, including in the 3T region.

This collaboration is also in line with the Ministry of Education's initiative to strengthen digital infrastructure through the Interactive Flat Panel (IFP) distribution to schools throughout Indonesia. This program targets more than 288 thousand IFP units to be installed by 2027, which can be directly integrated with Canva to support technology-based learning.

"Our target this year is one tool (IFP), one school. We go hand in hand there. So, when they get the device we provide development training on how to use the device. So we follow which school to give," he said.
