Garmin Introduces AMOLED Tactical Instinct Crossover, Combining Digital Analog And Screen

JAKARTA Garmin introduced its newest smartwatch, the Instinct Crossover AMOLED Tactical. This device comes with a hybrid concept that combines clock needles analogous to digital screens.

Different from other Instinct models, this watch comes with AMOLED technology. According to Garmin, this screen type change makes the device look brighter and more dynamic, unlike the previous watch.

One of the new features of this smart watch is water-based dynamics on AMOLED screens. The digital screen behind the clock needle can move or shift automatically. This aims to prevent important information displayed from being covered by analog clock clocks.

Real-time analog heads features are also here to ensure analog needles also function in real-time. For example, when turning to compass mode, clock needles can immediately serve as compass pointings with digital compass dials that appear on AMOLED screens.

This watch also features augmented dial display on its clock, where the needle is transparent in the middle. This needle is also equipped with Super Luminova which is bright when the light is dim.

The reform drive technology is also added to maintain analog time accuracy. The system has an automatic calibration required due to collisions or extreme temperature changes that can cause the needle to shift and show an inappropriate time.

"This is indeed the technology we present to ensure that this analog needle reads the precise timing point," said Garmin Indonesia Senior Marketing Communication Manager Chandrawidhi Desideriani on Tuesday, October 28.

In terms of performance, this watch uses a cryptal amphire that is scratch resistant and has a sturdy rugby case structure. Like other Garmin clocks, this AMOLED Tactical Instinct Crossover model has met military standards and is water resistant to a depth of 10 ATMs.

This watch has also been tested for external systems, which are able to operate safely at extreme temperatures, ranging from minus 20 to 60 degrees Celsius. For its safety features, this watch offers the steal mode and kill switch features.

The Kill switch supports fast removal of sensitive data, while the steal mode can turn off all lights and wireless transmissions that could potentially reveal the user's position. This is very important for covert operations.

AMOLED Tactical Crossover Instincts are equipped with more than 100 sports modes, an increase from the previous 80 modes. For health monitoring, this watch is equipped with oxygen saturation features, heart rate tracking, stress tracking, and Body Battery. The latest features include Sleep Coach, Neck Detection, and BREAK Variation during sleep.

Battery life in smartwatch mode can reach 14 days, which is 29 hours in GPS mode and 12 hours in expedition mode. This device will come in three color options and will be available on October 31.
