Threads Presents New Ghost Post Feature, Posts Will Disappear In 24 Hours

JAKARTA - Meta Platform Inc. launched a new feature in Threads called ghost posts. This new feature allows users to post temporary content, and will disappear automatically in 24 hours.

"There's today and it's gone tomorrow, you can feel confident trying new things and posting spontaneous thoughts," Meta wrote in an official announcement on its website.

How it works will be similar to stories on Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp. Where the post will automatically disappear within 24 hours.

However, Meta presents its own tab for ghost post. Where when you open someone's profile in Threads, you will see a new tab at the top. There, you will see ghost posts from the user, and when that post will disappear.

Meta also said that replies for ghost posts would not appear in the post, but would be sent via message inbox.

The reason for ghost posts will be sent to your message inbox, and only you can see who likes and replies. To create ghost posts, just activate the ghost icon," explained the company.

Ghost posts are just one of the many tools you can use to express yourself and join a conversation on Thread.

Recently, we launched an appendix of text, which allows users to post up to 10,000 characters for longer thoughts or quotes from articles, and over the summer.

"We will continue to update Threads to share ideas and connect with others to make it easier and more enjoyable," concluded Meta.
