Implementation Of AI And Data Security, Which Should Be A Priority?

JAKARTA In the midst of widespread adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) in various industries, NetApp, a leading company in the field of data infrastructure, emphasized the importance of balance between innovation and data security.

NetApp Indonesia Country Manager, Michael Thiotrisno said, the implementation of AI can only function optimally, if the data used is protected and managed properly.

These two (AI and data security) cannot be separated. So when AI grows bigger, data security is also very important. Because, AI can only be smart if the data is smart," Michael said at the NetApp Media Group Interview on Thursday, October 16 in Jakarta.

He explained that many companies failed in implementing AI, not because of their poor technology, but because of weak data security. Because, when data is leaked or damaged by cyber attacks, AI projects are at risk of failing before it actually runs.

"Because if the data is not safe, it's an average failed company from the AI deployment or from the plan to execute AI," added Michael further.

To answer the challenge, NetApp presents AFX 1K, an all-flash priority class storage system designed by disagregated means that storage and computing components can be increased separately as needed.

In addition, there is also a NetApp AI Data Engine (AIDE), to help companies make maximum use of data in AI projects, ranging from collection, processing, to integration to the Generative AI (GenAI) application.

Michael emphasized that with the launch of AFX 1K and AIDE, NetApp wants to provide a strong data foundation for companies that are accelerating its digital transformation through AI.
