JAKARTA - Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid emphasized Indonesia's position as a new force in the world game industry through the Indonesia Game Developer eXchange (IGDX) 2025.
Carrying the theme 'Accelerating Southeast Asia's Creative Power', this annual event brings together hundreds of local game developers with publishers, investors, and international media.
"We are not only holding a conference, but also reaffirming the common belief that Indonesia and Southeast Asia have become new centers of global creative and digital innovation," Meutya said in her official broadcast.
According to Meutya, IGNX is able to build a complete ecosystem that involves all game industry players from various backgrounds. In fact, since 2021, this program has facilitated more than 3,500 business meetings between local developers and global industrial partners.
The contribution of the game industry to the national economy is also increasingly real. Currently, this sector accounts for around IDR 71 trillion per year and is supported by more than 2,000 active developers and publishers in various regions in Indonesia.
