JAKARTA - Threads announced the launch of the Community, a feature developed as a public forum for users. Currently, the feature is still rolling out as part of the trial.

This feature, which is similar to X's, is basically designed so that users can exchange unique perspectives on certain topics. Anyone can join the conversation.

Threads realizes that its platform has become a place for people to gather and share interests or expertise. With the Community, it will be easier for users to find and connect with individuals who have the same preference.

Communities are currently being tested on more than 100 of the most popular topics in Threads. Communities are also connected to existing features, such as custom topic tag and feed, so users can connect more meaningfully.

This initial trial focused on the most active interest, some of which were Threads NBA/WNBA, Thread TV, and Thread KPop. In the future, Threads will add more topics to the Community.

User membership in a Community will be public and will automatically be embedded in the user feed menu. This membership will also be embedded in the user profile. This allows other users to see the main interest of account owners at a glance.

Users can try the Community feature by looking for it by name or tapping the Community tag which has a three-dot icon in the post. Once found, users can join by tapping the Join button in the upper right corner.
