Southeast Asian Internet Ranking, Indonesia's Most Distended Ranking?

YOGYAKARTA Ookla, the global technology company that makes applications and internet testing services Speedtest, shared a report on the August 2025 edition of Speedtest Global Index which ranks various countries based on average speed. In this index there is also a Southeast Asian internet rating, both mobile internet and broadband fixed. So what number is Indonesia's internet ranking?

In this report, it is known that the average Southeast Asia internet speed for download in the internet mobile category reaches 91.79 Mbps, uploads 13.50 Mbps, and latency 25 ms.

While the internet ranking Fixed Broadbad for Southeast Asia as of August 2025, namely:

From Speedtest reports for the Fixed Broadband internet, the average internet speed for downloads touched at 103.09 Mbps, internet speed uploaded 56.75 Mbps, and latency 8 ms.

According to a 2025 Speedtest Global Index report, Indonesia's mobile internet speed is one of the late in Southeast Asia, even its rankings are below Laos and Myanmar.

Referring to the report, the average Indonesian internet is 45.01 Mbps. As for the upload speed of 16.02 Mbps and the latency of 22 ms.

Even so, Speedtest noted that there was a slight increase in rankings from the previous report, where Indonesia rose three places.

Meanwhile, in the broadband fixed internet category which is the focus of the development of the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Komdigi), Indonesia has dropped one rank, but the poisi is still above Myanmar.
