JAKARTA Google has been around for decades and there are many products they have developed. However, not all of the innovations still persist until now, especially in terms of applications.
There are many Google-made applications that have been terminated due to lack of development or abandoned developments in the times. Now, the application is just a memory. Here are some applications that Google had created, but are no longer alive.
Google Reader
Google Reader, which was launched in 2005, is a very popular RSS aggregator. This app allows users to collect all their favorite websites and blogs in a neat and organized place.
In 2013, Google decided to close its app for reasons of low usage. This closure leaves a huge void for loyal fans. Although there are many alternatives, none of them are as good as Google Reader.
Google Play Music
Before Spotify and Apple Music emerged, Google Play Music had become a popular app. The app was released in 2011 and offered a unique merger of subscription streaming and personal music lockers.
Users can upload up to 50,000 of their own songs to the cloud. I Google finally combined Play Music into YouTube Music in 2020. Although YouTube Music takes up many of its features, the user experience certainly feels different.
Inbox by Gmail
Inbox by Gmail is an experimental application designed to change the way users manage emails. This app can group email into Bundles automatically such as Purchase and Travel.
In 2019, Google closed Inbox and integrated many of its features into Gmail. Although Gmail is now smarter, some of Inbox's unique improvements, such as a cleaner display, are never seen again.

Google +
Google+ is Google's attempt to challenge social media dominance like Facebook. This service offers unique features like Circles to share with certain groups and integrate with other Google products. Unfortunately, Google+ is not getting any attention.
Security and bug issues that expose user data ultimately speed up the closure. Despite having a loyal community in some places, Google+ has never succeeded in becoming an alternative mainstream. Google officially closed its app in April 2019.
Google Podcasts
Google Podcasts launched in 2018 as a simple app to listen to podcasts. This application is well integrated into the Android and Google Search ecosystem. Many users like the simplicity of the interface.
In September 2023, Google announced that the app would be discontinued. All content will be transferred to YouTube Music. This decision disappoints many users who prefer special apps to podcasts.
