Meta Launches Ray-Ban Display Smart Glasses With Hand Controllable Screens

JAKARTA Meta launched the latest smart glasses called Meta Ray-Ban Display. These glasses are equipped with an integrated screen that can be controlled through smooth hand movements.

The launch of these glasses was delivered by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg at the 2025 Meta Connect annual conference. This product can be purchased starting September 30 at a price of US $ 799 (IDR 13.1 million). These glasses are the evolution of previous smart glasses products.

These smart glasses are Meta's latest attempt to bring hardware that can compete with the function of the phone. So far, Meta is still dependent on competitors such as Google and Apple. With this hardware, Meta hopes to reach users in different ways.

This device is believed to continue the success of previous generations of Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses sold for millions. Like its predecessor, Meta Ray-Ban Display will be equipped with assistant Artificial Intelligence (AI), cameras, speakers, and microphones.

These glasses also allow users to connect to the internet and various social media applications. Screens integrated in the right lens of glasses allow users to see various important information directly.

Users can display Meta applications such as Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook in the lens. These glasses can also display directions and visually direct translation.

To control these smart glasses, Meta introduces the Neural Band, a bracelet worn on the wrist. This bracelet looks similar to Fitbit, but without a screen. Its function is to detect small hand movements for app navigation.

This smart bracelet uses electromographic technology (EMG) to capture signals from the brain to the hand. This technology allows users to control the device only with minimal finger or hand movements.

The Neural Band has up to 18 hours of battery life and is water resistant. This technology is the main difference between other smart glasses products in the market. The combination of glasses and Neural Band is expected to bring the user experience to the next level.
