Dolby Laboratories Launches Dolby Vision 2 With AI Support

JAKARTA Dolby Laboratories launched Dolby Vision 2, the evolution of image quality technology that was launched more than a decade ago. Through this launch, Dolby promises the latest visual experience.

Dolby Vision 2 is supported by a redesigned and more powerful image machine. With a wide content ecosystem, this machine is claimed to be able to maximize television capabilities in the modern era.

"Dolby Vision 2 redefines the way we view Dolby Vision to maximize the capabilities of modern TV," said John Couling, Senior Vice President of Entertainment Dolby Laboratories. "This technology also provides artists with unprecedented opportunities."

Dolby Vision 2 can maximize visual impressions when combined with Content Intelligence. The Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based feature now has a new tool that is tailored to support Dolby Vision 2.

The first feature introduced was Precision Black. This feature is claimed to reduce images that are too dark without reducing artistic goals. Meanwhile, Light Sense uses surrounding lighting data to optimize television appearance to make it ideal.

In addition, there is a feature of Optimization of Sports and Games. This feature is specially designed to meet the needs of sports shows and games in person. This feature adds new fine-dot adjustments and movement controls.

Dolby Vision 2 also introduced a two-way tone mapping that utilizes the brightness and color of modern television. With this new control, television will achieve higher brightness, sharper contrast, and very saturated colors.

Hisense will be the first television producer to adopt Dolby Vision 2. Hisense Television will be powered by the MediaTek Pentonic 800 processor. The launch time and availability of the first television with Dolby Vision 2. will be announced in the near future.
