JAKARTA Microsoft announced changes to how to store documents in the Word application. Unlike before, all documents being made in Word will be saved automatically to the cloud.

This storage method can work without the need to activate the Auto Save feature manually. Raul Munoz, product manager in the service and experience department of Office at Microsoft, said that this change is part of modernization.

With the development of technology, everything doesn't have to be done manually. Now, users are not worried about losing data because newly created documents will be automatically stored in OneDrive or other cloud storage.

This change is still being tested and doesn't know when it will be released. However, if you are registered with the Microsoft 365 Insider program, this feature can be accessed first before sharing it to the public.

Microsoft stated that this step will ensure documents can be accessed on various devices, such as cell phones and web browsers. This provides more flexibility for users who often work on various platforms.

Automatically, the new document will be named according to the creation date. Users still have full control to change the default storage location. In addition, the automatic storage option to the cloud can also be turned off at any time.

This move is part of Microsoft's efforts to encourage users to take advantage of its cloud services. In line with this change, the company warns users to enable OneDrive reserves.

However, after testing this feature was announced, Microsoft did not get a full positive reaction. The company has also received criticism from some users because changes in this storage system are considered more complicated than before.

However, there are some users who have been helped by this change. With automatic storage into the cloud, users don't have to worry about losing their important documents when Word is lost before it is saved.
