JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Technology (AI) Talent Factory, with Universitas Brawijaya (UB) being the first campus to launch the initiative.

This initiative is intended to create artificial intelligence talents capable of creating original solutions and products made by the nation's children.

In addition, this initiative is also expected to be an effort by the government in creating 9 million Indonesian digital talents by 2030.

Head of the Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) of the Ministry of Communication and Trade, Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto, also emphasized that the need for Indonesia's digital talent is very urgent.

We calculate the need for digital talent, especially in the next five to 2030. The shortage reaches around 453,000 per year. This paradox is interesting. Indeed, we have to shift the workforce from blue collar to white collar," said Boni in her official broadcast.

Boni also emphasized that this AI Talent Factory was prepared not only for basic training, but also for producing advanced talent.

In fact, we want to extend the runway to the AI practitioner and specialist levels. Even though there aren't many in number, they will be levers of change for our AI industry," said Boni.

Meanwhile, Head of the Center for Digital Talent Development Said Mirza Pahlevi explained a learning method that emphasizes collaboration and the creation of real solutions.

About 50 percent of activities are in the form of discussions and brainstorming which are guided by experts. Participants also carry out independent exploration to produce prototypes and portfolios. Only about 20 percent are in the form of independent learning, "explained Said.

With this approach, AI Talent Factory is expected to produce the original Indonesian use case solution (IP), as well as become a model for the development of AI talent centers in various regions.
