JAKARTA - It's only about a month before Apple introduces the Apple Watch Series 11 at the September event. After last year's screen upgrade, this year the smartwatch is expected to come with a new health feature.

The Cupertino-based company is expected to present a new S11 chip with a more compact and efficient design. The increase in processor performance can extend battery life and provide space for larger batteries or additional internal components.

The Apple Watch Series 11 is likely to use the latest MediaTek modem with support for 5G RedCap 5G services specifically designed for wearable devices that don't require full 5G speed. Currently Apple Watch only supports LTE connections, so this technology is expected to bring increased connectivity.

Apple is developing a blood pressure monitoring feature. Although it is not certain that it is ready to be launched in the 2025 model, this feature will reportedly give a warning if hypertension is detected within a certain period of time.

Unlike ordinary blood pressure measuring devices, this feature does not display systolic and diastolic figures, but rather serves as an early warning system for users to check themselves with medical personnel.

WatchOS 26 feature

Apple Watch Series 11 will run watchOS 26, which is currently being beta tested. One of the new features is Workout Buddy, a virtual personal trainer that motivates users during a voice exercise generated from the AI model using original Apple Fitness+ coaching voice data.

watchOS 26 also brings a Liquid Glass design that is in line with the updated iOS 26, Smart Stack, new Control Center, additional movement, and various other improvements.

Sleep Score

The iOS 26 code indicates that Apple is developing a 'sleep score' feature that predicts the user's ability to do activities during the day based on the quality of the night's sleep before. This feature can combine various health metrics as well as the Vitals option on watchOS 11, and possibly exclusively present on the Apple Watch 2025.

The year 2025 marks the 10th anniversary of Apple Watch's launch. Although previously rumors circulated about a massive redesign with magnetic band and body hook systems thinner, so far there has been no sign of a major update on Series 11 regarding the band's design. Apple may be celebrating this moment in other ways.

Blood oxygen monitoring features are still not available on Apple Watch models sold in the United States, and there are no indications that this feature will return in Series 11.
