AWS Reveals Industrial Readiness In Indonesia Following The Rapid Development Of AI

JAKARTA - The very fast development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology, starting from AI, AI generative (GenAI), to AI Agentics is a challenge as well as an opportunity for industry players in Indonesia.

"It's true that the development of AI technology is very fast. AI, the AI generative, we even talk about the AI generative, talking about the large language model (LLM), it's made new once every two weeks. Now it's an agency," said Country Manager of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Indonesia, Anthony Amni to VOI in the media Briefing on the sidelines of the 2025 AWS Summit on Thursday, August 7 in Jakarta.

However, with this very rapid development, Anthony believes industry players or companies in Indonesia can continue to follow these developments, in order to support their business.

"I think we have to be optimistic. In fact, many companies and startups in Indonesia have been able to adapt quickly," he said further.

He also mentioned several examples of Indonesian startups that have successfully adapted to AI developments in Indonesia such as Halodoc, Traveloka, and even Meetings.ai' which has now been used in more than 10 countries including America.

However, Anthony emphasized the importance of ensuring the availability of technology in the country, and continuing to educate the market to be ready to use it.

As one of the largest technology companies in the world, Anthony stated, AWS provides a platform that allows industries to take advantage of the latest technologies, to be adopted.

He stated that AWS' approach to this rapid development was to provide the widest possible option to customers.

"Imagine us like supermarkets. At Amazon Bedrock, for example, we don't require customers to use Amazon-made models. Some are from meta, Llama, some are from Anthropic, some are from DeepSek," he said.

Anthony emphasized that the flexibility and diversity of AI models is the key so that companies can continue to be relevant without the need to change the system thoroughly.

"We really respect Indonesia's data sovereignty. And our common task is to ensure that when the technology is present, our human resources are ready to use it," concluded Anthony.
