JAKARTA Instagram introduced a new feature similar to TikTok's. The platform under the auspices of Meta now features a repost, the ability to repost content created by creators.
This ability comes at Reels, a special vertical video display that is also similar to TikTok with the same function. By using the repost feature, users can re-sharing a post and other users can view it.
All posts reposted will be saved in a special repost tab on the user's profile. Later, other users can see all the reposted content only by visiting the profile.
"Repost will be recommended to your friends and followers feed, and will also be displayed on separate tabs on your profile, so you can always come back to see your repost," Instagram said, quoted on Thursday, August 7.
In addition to helping users, the repost feature is also designed to benefit creators. When their content is reposted by someone, the content has the potential to be recommended to the person's followers.

This provides an opportunity for creators to reach a wider audience. To use this feature, users only need to tap on the repost icon with the comment icon.
"If you're a creator, this means if your content is reposted by someone else, the content may be recommended to the person's followers, even if they don't follow you," explained Instagram.
Interestingly, this feature is not only available on Reels, but also in the usual postal feed. Users can re-sharing all posts that appear on their timeline so that their followers know what kind of content they are interested in.
