Redmi Turbo 5 Ready To Launch December, Poco X8 Pro Is Estimated To Release Faster Than Schedule

JAKARTA - Xiaomi is again surprising the smartphone market with the acceleration of its latest product line launch schedule. After previously reports emerged that the Xiaomi 16 series will arrive earlier than the previous generation, now it's the turn of the Redmi Turbo and Poco X lines in the spotlight. Recent information reveals that the Redmi Turbo 5 will launch in December 2025, while the Poco X8 Pro will most likely debut sooner than expected.

For the record, Redmi Turbo 4 was officially announced in January 2025 in the Chinese market. However, leaked from Smart Pikachu's famous tips say that Redmi is accelerating the launch schedule for the next generation, namely Redmi Turbo 5, and is targeting launches in December this year for the domestic market.

This decision is believed to be a strategic step to accelerate market penetration, especially considering that the Redmi Turbo 5 is said to be the first smartphone in the world powered by the latest generation of 8500 Dimensity chipsets. Xiaomi is expected to enjoy an exclusivity period with the chipset, because competitors such as Honor, Realme, and iQOO will only bring mobile phones with Dimensity 8500 in the first quarter of 2026.

Expected Specifications From Redmi Turbo 5

According to various leaks, the Redmi Turbo 5 will come with a 6.67-inch OLED LTPS flat screen panel that supports the 1.5K resolution. The chipset used will most likely be marketed under the name Dimensity 8500 Ultra, the overclock version of its standard series. In addition, the design is rumored to carry a metal middle frame, giving a premium and sturdy impression.

Batteries are also one of the main attractions, with an estimated capacity of 7.000 mAh, larger than most flagships in class.

Additional reports suggest that the Redmi Turbo 5 Pro is likely to be released next year with a larger screen size, about 6.83 inches, similar to its predecessor Turbo 4 Pro. This Pro variant is even said to be equipped with a massive battery of more than 8,000 mAh and supports 100W fast charging.

Interestingly, the global version of the Turbo 5 Pro is expected to be released under the name Poco F8, extending the reach of Xiaomi products for the international market.

With the aggressiveness of Xiaomi and its sub-brands like Redmi and Poco, the smartphone market will certainly be more competitive towards the end of 2025. The combination between the latest chipset technology, jumbo battery capacity, and cross-brand launch strategies makes Redmi Turbo 5 and Poco X8 Pro two devices highly anticipated by global technology and consumer enthusiasts.

These developments also put added pressure on competitors such as Samsung, Realme, and Honor, who had to catch up with them in terms of chipset exclusivity and battery innovation in the upper-middle class.
