Huang's statement follows Nvidia's announcement to continue selling the H20 artificial intelligence (AI) chips to China, following export talks between the US and China. US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the decision was part of negotiations over rare earth raw materials.
"H20 has been released from the ban, with excellent memory bandwidth, well suited for big language models (LLM) and other new models," Huang said. Huang said that the license for orders from China would be approved quickly, saying that many orders have come in. Orders of the H20 chip from Chinese companies must be submitted by Nvidia to the US government for approval.
