JAKARTA Indonesia will host the 12th World Science Forum (WSF) next year. International events involving many of these countries are being prepared by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN).
As the host at the next event, Indonesia will become the first country in Asia as well as in the Eastern hemisphere to hold the event. This prestigious event is scheduled to take place from 10 to 13 November 2026.
The head of BRIN, Laksana Tri Handoko, stated that the choice of Indonesia as the organizer was a profitable thing. The hope is that Indonesia can make the event a success while encouraging sustainable development.
"This provides a unique opportunity for our region to make a meaningful contribution to global science," Handoko said while attending the 2026 WSF Steering Committee meeting, quoted via the official BRIN website on Thursday, July 10.
