JAKARTA Samsung officially launched its newest foldable phone globally. The South Korean technology company launched the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, including in Indonesia.
This year's Z Fold is designed with a ringer weight and thinner thickness. The phone is claimed to be lighter than the Galaxy S25 Ultra with a weight of only 215 grams, while the thickness is only 8.9mm when folded and 4.2mm when opened.
"So, it's really thin. Very thin, it's also very light. If we compare it with the previous Fold 6, the weight is 229 grams," said Ilham Indrawan, MX Product Marketing Senior Manager of Samsung Electronics Indonesia, on Thursday, July 10.
For the design, this device uses a FlexHinge Armor with hinge devices that can reduce creating and increase pressure resistance. For the screen, this phone uses Corning Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 and Ultra-Thin Glass.
Samsung added the first 200MP wide camera on the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with images guaranteed to capture more details. In addition, there is a wide-angle 10MP camera with a 100-degree field of view. This wide range allows users to take selfie groups.
When launched, this device immediately adopted the One UI 8 based on Android 16. This operating system presents a number of New Intelligence (AI) features which are also supported by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile processor.
The first newly launched AI feature is Drag and Drop AI, a multi-window capability that can move images or text easily. For example, when users open Google and WhatsApp simultaneously, they can immediately move images accessed from Google.

This device offers the largest battery in the Z Flip series so far, which is 4,300mAh with a processor from Samsung, namely the 3nm Exynos 2400. For the first time, Samsung added the DeX desktop feature to the device.
This foldable phone is also powered directly by One UI 8 which supports the use of Gemini Live on the FlexWindow screen. Users can directly show the object they want to ask and Gemini will give a real-time response.
Interestingly, both phones now support the use of Circle to Search when playing games. Whether playing light games like Mobile Legends or heavy games like Genshin Impact, users can ask Gemini tips or tricks.
Users can also take advantage of the Gemini Live feature by activating it via side button. Without leaving the app, Gemini can see what the user's screen shows and give the response as expected.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 comes in three color choices, namely Blue Shadow, Jet Black, and Silver Shadow. This device offers a combination of 12GB+256GB storage up to 16GB+1TB starting from a price of IDR 28.499 million to IDR 34.999 million.
Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is available in Blue Shadow, Carol Pearl, and Jet Black colors. This device is available in 12GB +256GB and 12GB +512GB storage at a price of IDR 17.999 million and IDR 19.999 million.
This device is capable of competing with OPPO Find N5, the world's thinest foldable device with a thickness of only 8.93mm when closed, and the Honor Magic V3 which offers a larger battery, namely 5150mAh. This phone has a thickness of 9.2mm.
