JAKARTA The closing time of the Freevee application has finally been revealed. The free streaming service for films and series from Amazon will stop operating in August this year.
The plan to close the Freevee app was revealed in November last year. However, when this plan was first announced, Amazon had not disclosed the exact time of closure. Now, Amazon has directed users to switch apps.
In notifications shown in the Freevee app, users are directed to use Prime Video. All exclusive content, including television shows, movies, to live broadcasts on Freevee, will be moved to Prime Video.
The platform also provides a number of content for free. To enjoy unpaid content, users only need to download the Prime Video application from the Google Play Store or App Store and log in using the account that has been created.

Previously, Amazon had explained that they would no longer use the Freevee brand. Although some Freevee content will be transferred to Prime Video, the app will not experience content changes.
"There will be no changes to the content available to Prime members, and a wide free streaming content offering will remain accessible to non-Prime members, including some Originals from Amazon MGM Studios," an Amazon spokesperson said.
The closure of Freevee services is part of Amazon's efforts to simplify its offerings. The company wants to concentrate its content on an integrated platform. Compared to Freevee, Prime Video is more popular so Amazon retains the platform.
