JAKARTA - Apple is reportedly developing two new models from the Apple Vision Pro, with one of them "versions with the M5 chip" predicted to start mass production in the third quarter of 2025 and could be released before the end of the year.

This news comes from the well-known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who is often a source of accurate leaks around Apple products. Previously, rumors circulated that a lighter version of Vision Pro would be present in early 2026. However, Kuo denied this and stated that there would be no launch of new devices at all in 2026. In contrast, Apple will actually release several products starting in 2027.

In his blog post, Kuo claims that Apple has five new products in the Vision Pro category and smart glasses that already have a release schedule, as well as two other products whose schedule is still uncertain. One of the closest is Apple Vision Pro with an M5 chip, which is scheduled to start mass production in the third quarter of 2025.

The following is the Kuo version of Vision Pro roadmap from 2025 to 2028:

- Apple Vision Pro M5 Quarter 3 2025

- Apple Vision Pro second-generation Second-half 2028

Apart from Vision Pro, Apple is also said to be developing Ray-Ban-like smart glasses, which will be released before the end of 2028. Five devices in this category are claimed to have a confirmed launch window.

One of the new models also mentioned is Apple Vision Air, which is said to have a fully new design, using an iPhone's series A chip, and priced much lower than the current Vision Pro.

Kuo also gave a prediction of the number of shipments for Vision Pro M5. According to him, this device will only be shipped between 150,000 and 200,000 units throughout 2027, making it a niche (special) product.

He said that the existence of Vision Pro aims to maintain Apple's position in the mixed reality market, as well as help develop ecosystems and 'reduce component stocks' indirectly.

Although Kuo's track record in recent years has declined, he is known to rarely make predictions like this and previously proved accurate in several important Apple announcements.
