JAKARTA Apple just launched iOS 26 earlier this week for iPhone users in beta. Although released recently, Apple has launched an update for iOS 26 beta 1.

According to 9to5mac findings, Apple has launched two beta versions for iOS 26 in just one week. The second update launched by Apple is not beta 2 as the company only changed the code a little bit from its operating system.

The iOS 26 beta 1 version released shortly after the 2025 Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) event was 23A5260n, while the latest version released was 23A5260u. Apple only changed the 'n' letters on the back to 'u'.

It's not clear why this second update was rolled out in such a short time. However, judging from the code that hasn't changed much, it looks like Apple hasn't added much major changes to it.

Apple is believed to not have added a new feature or changed the design of the iOS 26 interface. Most likely, Apple launched this update because it found bugs affecting system performance or security concerns.

Unlike the beta 1 version released some time ago, this latest version is only available for iPhone 16 and iPhone 15 series. Lower devices than that won't receive any updates.

The launch of beta 1 to beta 2 is usually not so far away. As such, the next update is expected to come in the near future. iOS 26 beta 2 will launch as early as next week.
