JAKARTA - Samsung is reportedly preparing a Fan Edition (FE) variant for its folding phone line. According to a recent report, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will be launched at a price of around US$750 (Rp. 12.2 million), making it one of the most affordable foldables with high-end specifications.
The official launch of Samsung's newest foldable device is expected to take place in July 2025. Although there has been no direct confirmation from Samsung, rumors regarding the presence of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE have begun to strengthen since the CAD render of this device emerged in March. Since then, the news about FE has subsided until now.
Citing a report from the rest of the Journal, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is estimated to be priced at 1,000,000 won in South Korea, which when converted is about 750 US dollars. This price is much cheaper than the Galaxy Z Flip 7 regular version which is estimated to remain in the previous model price range, around 999 US dollars.
Not only about the price, this report also strengthens rumors of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE specifications. One of the interesting things is the possibility of using the Exynos 2500 chipset instead of Snapdragon like the previous generation even for the US market. This is a big change considering that Samsung has been relying on Qualcomm chipsets for Fold and Flip lines.

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE will most likely carry features similar to the Galaxy Z Flip 6, including cameras, storage capacities, and batteries. However, it is not yet known what significant differences will distinguish FE models from more expensive standard versions.
On the other hand, Samsung is also starting to tease the market by calling the Galaxy Z Fold 7 the Ultra version, although it's not yet clear whether it means there will be more than one Fold model released this year.
The three Galaxy Z Flip 7 devices, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 are scheduled to launch globally in July 2025.
