JAKARTA - The Cannes Film Festival hosted the world premiere of Bono: Stories of Subscription, Apple TV+'s first music documentary to come in Apple's full-length immersive video edition Vision Pro. This new Apple TV+ documentary will be released in 8K and 180 degrees, marking the first time a long special film has aired in Apple Immersive Video format. While the 8K version is featured on Cannes, Apple Vision Pro's version will put the headset users on stage with Bono.
According to Apple, this documentary is a "brave and liquefactory exploration of a single Bono show," and directed by Andrew Dominik. The Australian director previously documented the creation of Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds' 16th album in a film called One More Time With Feeling.
Prior to the screening, Bono told Deadline magazine that shooting in Apple Immersive Video made this film "very fun."

"They know not everyone can buy it, but they are continuing it, believing that one day, this will make sense financially to them."
As part of Special Screenings at the Cannes Film Festival, Bono: Stories of Subscription played on Saturday, May 17, 2025. The two versions of one for Apple Vision Pro will be released worldwide on Apple TV+ starting Friday, May 30.
Apple Immersive Video is now in the spotlight in Apple's latest Vision Pro update with the visionOS 2.5 operating system. The update provides a special section for immersive videos on Apple TV apps.
