MediaTek Ready To Launch Dimensity 9400e, Opponents Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 Will Arrive Next Week

JAKARTA - MediaTek has officially begun to tease the public with the latest chips from the Dimensity 9900 flagship line, and although it has not disclosed its official name, many leaks indicate that what will be launched is Dimensity 9400e.

The chip is expected to be an upgraded version of Dimensity 9500+, with higher performance and better thermal efficiency. The launch is scheduled to take place next week, as part of MediaTek's strategy in targeting the flagship market segment at a more competitive price.

The Dimensity 9000e chip is believed to carry the same core architecture as the Dimensity 9300+, but with a number of improvements, including increased frequency, more optimal temperature management, and enhanced GPU performance.

The advent of a striking initial benchmark figure reinforces this allegation. In AnTuTu testing, the chip was reportedly able to score up to 2.1 million points, while in its 1440p Aztec graphics test, its GPU recorded results of up to 95 fps. These figures suggest that Dimensity 9400e is designed to be a direct competitor to Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, especially in terms of CPU performance and gaming experience.

In addition, recent reports reveal that OnePlus will most likely be one of the first brands to adopt Dimensity 9400e on its new device. The two models expected to come with this chip are the OnePlus Ace 5 Racing Edition and its global version known as the OnePlus Nord 5.

The presence of this chip on the OnePlus product line indicates that MediaTek wants to expand its influence in the increasingly competitive affordable flagship segment. Devices with Dimensity 9400e will compete directly with other phones such as the iQOO Z10 Turbo Pro and Redmi Turbo 4 Pro powered by Snapdragon 8s Gen 4.

Although the complete specifications of Dimensity 9400e are still kept secret, all signals suggest that MediaTek wants to fill a strategic gap in the chipset market. Dimensity 9400e will be positioned as a semi-flagship chip that performs above a mid-class chip, but does not necessarily rival the regular version of Dimensity 9400 in the premium class.

This move is considered a smart strategy to target brands that want flagship power at a more efficient price, especially in markets that are very sensitive to price and value.

With the launch just counting days, Dimensity 9400e has the potential to become a MediaTek truf card in this year's silicon competition. All eyes are now set on next week, as MediaTek officially opens the veil of one of their most important chips of 2025.
