JAKARTA - Sony has officially announced that its newest flagship phone from the Xperia 1 series will be launched next week. The phone is expected to be Xperia 1 VII, and will be officially announced on May 13 at 10 p.m. ET time or 2 a.m. WIB.

This announcement was made through an official video on Sony Xperia's YouTube channel entitled The next ONE is coming. In the snippet, the rear camera design is similar to that of its predecessor, but with the promise of increasing technology.

Most interestingly, Sony said that this phone will use powered by Alpha' camera technology. Although it still sounds quite common, this term refers to the integration of camera technology from Sony 's professional Alpha camera line which can include improving software features, sensors, and overall photography capabilities.

Some leaks say that Xperia 1 VII will still keep headphone jacks a rare feature on flagship phones today. However, there are conflicting claims about the use of Exmor T sensors on all rear cameras. In addition, this phone is expected to come with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Elite chipset, as well as other advanced features in the camera and multimedia fields.
