Discord Presents Phone Number Sharing Capabilities And Uploads Video Faster

JAKARTA Discord updated a recent Patch Note with various performance improvements and problem improvements. On this update, Discord only highlighted two important improvements.

At the highlight, Discord stated that they had sent some improvements to the video transcoding process on the Android platform. Thanks to this improvement, the average video upload speed managed to increase by 5.6 percent.

"Developments with low performance benefit the most with users seeing an average upload time increase of 10.5 percent," Discord said in his notes, quoted on Monday, May 5.

In addition, Discord has added the latest syntax markdown for email address links and phone numbers. Users no longer need to copy or paste messages into text editing apps to provide phone number links.

"Just pack an email and phone number with the symbol <> so that both are properly linked. Try it, but with full responsibility," said Discord. The platform asks its users to be careful in sharing phone number links.

Although only two were highlighted, Discord also explained that they had added new capabilities, namely uploading animation emojis with WebP and AVIF formats. With this support, the animation that users see will be clearer.

"This gives some improvements, such as true alpha transparency for smooth mixing, dramaticly improved color depth, much smaller file size, and smoother playback," Discord explained. "We see a spike in the use of these files."
