JAKARTA DeepSeek is back in South Korea after being blocked for several months. This Chatbot with Artificial Intelligence (AI) support can be downloaded starting Monday, April 28.
This service can be downloaded via the App Store and Google Play Store. It seems, DeepSeek has followed the rules in the local country and stopped using South Korean user data without permission. Therefore, the application is no longer blocked.
DeepSek has changed the statement in its privacy policy record. The Chinese AI platform said, "We are processing your personal information in accordance with the Korean Personal Information Protection Act."
A month after DeepSek became popular in various parts of the world, in February to be precise, South Korea suspended the availability of the application. This application is blocked against the South Korea Personal Information Protection Commission policy.
The agency claims that DeepSeek has violated data protection rules. In addition, South Korea's Personal Information Protection Commission stated that DeepSek took user data and transferred the data without permission.
