WhatsApp Will Launch A Feature That Can Block Actions To Export Chat Rooms

JAKARTA As an encrypted messaging application, WhatsApp strives to present a feature that can strengthen account security. Even though there are many choices of features, WhatsApp will present other features.

Based on WABetaInfo's findings, the platform under Meta is testing the Advanced Chat Privacy option. With this new feature, users can control whether others can export conversations in their chat rooms.

In addition, users can also set a media storage system in the chat room, such as whether the interlocutor can save the media automatically to the gallery. However, it is not explained whether manual media storage is still allowed.

This is a useful feature for anyone who wants to maintain their privacy. Users can also prevent the act of exporting chat rooms to be used to train Artificial Intelligence (AI), this action is popular on social media.

A number of ChatGPT users uploaded their conversations in file form to the AI model to build similar chats. For example, if someone misses their ex, ChatGPT can pretend to be the former through his speech style.

In fact, the export files uploaded may be important to store data. To prevent uploading conversation files to AI without consent, users can take advantage of the Advanced Chat Privacy option.

Interestingly, this option is also available for group chat rooms. If the group admin activates the Advanced Chat Privacy option, all members will be notified that the feature has been activated. It seems that this new capability will disable Meta AI in groups.

For now, the Advanced Chat Privacy option is still being tested on the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS and Android. It is not yet known when this new capability will roll out in a more stable version.
