JAKARTA - Apple is reopening the new chapter with the launch of the iPhone 16e, an evolutionary step that brings significant changes to the company's design strategy. However, behind this progress, there are a number of deaths' that mark a major shift in Apple's product philosophy.

Here are five things left by the iPhone 16e.

Although still lean, the iPhone 16e experienced a significant increase in size compared to the previous smaller model, such as the iPhone SE 2022. With dimensions 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.8 mm, the iPhone 16e is much larger than the SE 2022 which is only 138.4 x 67.3 x 7.3 mm, which means an increase in volume by more than 20%.

While the size is almost the same as the iPhone 16 (147.6 x 71.6 x 7.8 mm), this growth indicates that Apple is increasingly leaving a device that is really comfortable for the use of one hand and is easy to store in the pocket.

With the presence of the iPhone 16e, Apple effectively ended the line of products labeled "SE" (Special Edition). This could be an indication that Apple wants to simplify its product lineup or possibly completely remove the economical mobile phone segment represented by SE.

Apple itself has not disclosed the meaning of the "e" in the iPhone 16e. It could mean "economical" (economy), "essential" (essential), "edition" (edition), or "enhanced" (improved). Without official statements, speculation is still continuing among Apple fans.

Touch ID's sensor departure marks a major change in Apple's biometric security system. Now, Face ID is the only authentication method, ending the era of fingerprint scanners that have been the hallmark of several previous iPhone models.

Although Face ID offers sophisticated facial recognition, Touch ID's absence removes fingerprint-based security options that users still love a lot because of its practicality.

This phone runs iOS 18, which supports the Apple Intelligence feature, and offers a 12MP front camera with Face ID and 48MP rear camera capable of 2x lossless zoom.
