IPhone 17 Air Design Leaks: Ultra-Tipis Body And Back Camera Forming A Bar

JAKARTA - After releasing a video about the iPhone 17 Pro design, Jon Prosser from FrontPageTech is back with another video showing an estimated iPhone 17 Air design, a new, radical addition to the iPhone lineup.

The iPhone 17 Air is expected to replace the iPhone 16 Plus as a mid-range model with a fully new ultra-thin chassis design. Many reports suggest that one of the main compromises of this design is having only one rear camera. However, based on the latest leaks, the single lens will still be placed in a standout bar-shaped camera module across the back of the phone.

Of course, there is no certainty that this leak is true. However, the design is largely in line with previous reports from The Information and Bloomberg. The main difference lies in the design of the rear camera module.

While the latest leak shows a bar-shaped camera module with a lens on the left side, an earlier report from The Information states that the rear camera will be moved to the upper center of the device.

Ultra-Tipis Design

The iPhone 17 Air, also known as the Slim iPhone 17, will come with a very thin body. The thickness of this phone is estimated to be between 5.5mm and 6mm, excluding the back camera bulge.

However, to achieve this ultra-thin design, the specifications of the phone will experience several cuts. The 48-megapixel rear camera used will not have the range of optical zoom such as a model that has two or three rear cameras.

In addition, several previous reports also mentioned that the quality of the front camera will be lower, as well as the quality of its internal speakers. The iPhone 17 Air is also expected to use the basic version of the A19 chip, not the A19 Pro.

Apple seems to always have difficulty creating the fourth successful model in their iPhone lineup. The mini model was previously suspended due to a lack of demand, while the Plus variant is also not so popular. The iPhone 17 Air is Apple's latest attempt to create something completely different and striking.

It remains to be seen whether consumers will accept the compromise on the iPhone 17 Air, but its unique design will certainly attract attention when it starts selling in the fall.
