JAKARTA - Entering 2025, East Ventures, a leading venture capital (VC) company in Southeast Asia, announced its strategic focus on several sectors, namely AI-based startups, health innovations, climate technology, and consumer technology.

In a statement, East Ventures affirmed their commitment to continue to support innovation growth in the sector.

AI-based startup

In 2025, East Ventures predicts that the AI startup ecosystem will actually develop. About 25 percent of businesses will start using Generative AI (GenAI) and plan to implement AI agents. This figure is expected to increase to 50 percent by 2027.

This exciting growth is driven by new innovations designed to help companies work more efficiently and increase productivity in various industries.

Health innovation

Last year, East Ventures continued its support for the Indonesian Ministry of Health through the Health Innovation Sprint Accelerator (HISA) 2024, a health technology competition aimed at strengthening founders in facing entrepreneurial challenges.

The East Ventures projection for this year for the health industry is that more and more companies will rely on AI to improve patient care and facilitate operational systems.

Climate technology

East Ventures also places climate technology as a top priority. With initiatives such as Emission Calculator &hadyation Southeast Asia (ECOVISEA) and support for the Climate Impact Innovations Challenge (CIIC) program, East Ventures continues to lead steps in tackling climate change.

Consumer technology

In consumer technology, East Ventures sees a growing trend in e-commerce, especially with personalized shopping experience and customer service automation through chatbots.

They also see that demand for AI solutions is expected to grow along with business investments in tools that facilitate operations.
