JAKARTA Notepad++ has released version 8.7.2 for Windows users. In this latest version, the application developer has added an important feature that can facilitate the workflow of its users.

This new feature is named Pin Tab. According to the developer's explanation on the official Notepad++ website, Pin Tab is a specially designed feature based on the user's request. That way, this feature comes by default or without the need to be activated.

"This feature is enabled by default, but you can easily disable it through the Preferences dialog. The display and feel of the tabbar has also been improved by hiding closing icons and pins in inactive tabs," said the developer.

Pin Tab is indeed a feature that really helps its users. As the name implies, this feature will pin the tab. If the user clicks on the embedded or visible tabs at the bottom of the menu, they can switch tabs quickly.

All embedded tabs will be displayed on the left side, while the unstampted tab will be open next to the Pin Tab. Even though the position is separated, the user can still close the tab easily, either accidentally or intentionally.

The reason is, when the user clicks on the embedded tab, the blue Pin Tab icon will turn white and next to it there is a red crossed icon. If this icon is tapped, the embedded tab will still be closed.

Pin Tab isn't the only update developers add to version 8.7.2. This free-use text editor and source code editing also includes some fixes, especially bugs that interfere with software performance.
