Meutya Hafid Focuses On Eradicating Online Gambling, Digital Security, And Internet Child Friendly

JAKARTA - Officially become the new Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid revealed that her main focus in this new position starts from eradicating online gambling, improving digital security, and fixing digital spaces.

"I am according to orders from many people that we tried to accommodate while I was in commission I, including digital security, then also the war on illegal judol and borrowing, and because I am a woman, I also added how the internet is child-friendly," Meutya told the media at the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs Office Monday, October 21.

According to him, creating child-friendly internet will protect all children in Indonesia from the dangers of human trafficking, child ponrography, to violence against children.

In addition, Meutya also said that he and the two deputy ministers, namely Nezar Patria and Angga Raka Prabowo, would visit disadvantaged, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas to ensure an even internet in all corners of the country.

"Later, we, together with the Deputy Ministers in the near future, will go to 3T areas, especially in eastern Indonesia, to check the connections there, with the hope that if we want a digital basis, the connection must be evenly distributed, and also fast," he continued.

Today, after being inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, former Minister of Communication and Information Budi Arie Setiadi has also handed over positions to the new Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (Menkomdigi), Meutya Hafid.
