JAKARTA Genshin Impact, HoYoverse's popular game, released version 5.1 with the title 'The Rainbow Destination to Burn' on October 9. In this latest version, HoYoverse will continue the storyline in Natlan.

This update has been awaited a lot since the Kinich banner emerged, but there is unpleasant news from HoYoverse. The Chinese gaming company said it did not provide voice over English in some scenes.

"Due to the recording settings, some content in version 5.1 has no background sound in English. We apologize for the inconvenience caused," HoYoverse said via Genshin Impact's official account at Hoyolab.

Reporting from Polygon, some of the characters who lost their voices were Kachina, Kinich, Aether, and Ajaw.

This missing voice looks very strange and striking. The reason is, in some scenes during the request, a number of characters have voices and the rest don't.

This problem is very visible when the characters Paimon, Xilonen, Kachina, and Kinich chat in one of the scenes. Xilonen and Paimon talk as usual with voice over support, but Kachina and Kinich lose their voices and are only accompanied by supporting text.

Although developer Genshin revealed that this missing voice occurred due to record settings, this issue may have occurred due to a strike from the American Television and Radio Artists Federation (SAG-AFTRA) that voiced the game.

This strike started at the end of last July due to workers' concerns about Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology.

Many voice actors feel their work is threatened because AI is increasingly sophisticated and is starting to use game developers.

However, SAG-AFTRA's strike has only targeted ten companies, including Disney Character Voices, Electronic Arts, Epic Games, WB Games, and many more.

The HoYoverse is not listed in the list report so the company may be honest about the issues they are facing.
