JAKARTA - The Telecommunication and Information Accessibility Agency (BAKTI) of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology targets to complete the construction of a 630 base transceiver station (BTS) 4G by the end of 2024.

Apart from the total 5,618 4G BTS built, Acting Director of Telecommunications and Information Services BAKTI Yulis Widyo Marfiah said that BAKTI had no plans to build BTS anymore.

"There is no (increase in the number of 4G BTS) We focus on completion for 5,618 locations," Yulis told the media at the Ngopi Bareng Kominfo event Friday, July 12.

Furthermore, Yulis said that the policy was carried out taking into account the availability of the existing budget.

As for next year's policy, it still depends on the five-year National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) initiated by the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas) and the Ministry of Finance.

Nevertheless, Yulis emphasized, BAKTI currently has plans to complete the entire development by the end of this year.

"Later next year, we will propose the operation maintenance, as well as related to the development of the ecosystem, utilization in this case, we will focus more on it," he continued.
