Netizens Demand Justice #BWFMustBeResponsible So That Indonesia Participates In All England

JAKARTA - Indonesian netizens unite and shout the hashtag #bwfmustberesponsilble on Twitter. They demanded justice from the world badminton federation (BWF) after the Indonesian badminton team was forced to withdraw from the All England 2021 tournament.

The hashtag #BWFMustBeResponsible is perched at the top of Indonesia's Twitter trending topic with more than 34.3 thousand tweets from netizens. Most of the netizens expressed their disappointment at BWF.

"I've been waiting for this tournament AE, but this morning I saw it on the news that Indonesian athletes were forced to WO because of an airplane with people who tested positive for Covid 19. Why? Tell us the reason!" netizens wrote.

As is known, all members of the Indonesian badminton team, both athletes, coaches and officials, were forced to be quarantined due to the COVID-19 health protocol in the UK. After one passenger on the plane boarded by the Indonesian national team tested positive for COVID-19.

Netizens also argue that the decision is unfair. This is because Indonesian athletes have tested negative ahead of the match.

"I've been waiting for Marcus and Kevin, but # AllEngland2021 disappointed us. HELLO ?! THIS IS ALL ENGLAND !! No reason to exclude all Indonesian players because they have tested negative! #BWFMustBeResponsible," wrote a netizen.

The COVID-19 case appeared one day before the All England event and caused the tournament opening match to be postponed. Several athletes and coaches from India, Thailand and Denmark have tested positive for COVID-19.

BWF immediately retested the athletes and coaches. The team that tested negative was also allowed to appear.

"Please, those who tested positive, the day after they were negative, were then given permission to continue the competition. And ALL INDONESIAN PLAYERS ARE NEGATIVE DITES ... Why don't you just postpone, why are you forced by WO?" chirped other netizens.

Several Indonesian representatives had already competed in the first round of the All England 2021. Marcus / Kevin, Hendra / Ahsan, and Jonatan Christie made it to the round of 16.
