JAKARTA - Martin Shkreli, known as Pharma Bro, claims to be the creator of DJT TrumpCoin, a crypto asset linked to former US President Donald Trump.

According to CCN information, Shkreli, who was previously in prison for six years due to financial fraud, personally revealed to blockchain investigator ZackXBT that he was the mastermind behind TrumpCoin. In a private message on platform X (formerly Twitter), Shkreli requested that this information remain kept confidential with the phrase, "Between us please." ZackXBT then shared a screenshot of the message, showing that Shkreli claimed to have created TrumpCoin with Barron Trump, Donald Trump's son.

After half an hour, Shkreli publicly acknowledged on X Spaces that he was indeed the creator of TrumpCoin, as reported by ZackXBT. This admission comes after ZackXBT announced that he had submitted this information for a leaky of 150,000 US Dollars (Rp2.4 billion) from Arkham Intelligence who was looking for a DJT developer.

Martin Shkreli was in the spotlight in 2015 when, as CEO of Turing Pharmaceuticals, he increased the price of the antiparasitic drug Daraprim to 5,500% overnight. This drug is very important to treat HIV/AIDS and toxoplasmos. This action sparked public outrage for burdening patients financially.

Shkreli was also convicted of securities fraud for defrauding investors in two failed hedge funds. He served a prison sentence of more than six years and was fined more than 70 million US Dollars (Rp1.14 trillion). His abrasive personality and behavior on social media exacerbated his public image as Pharma Bro - a symbol of greed and cruelty in the pharmaceutical industry.

The crypto world today is confused by two tokens of the same name but different blockchains. Pirate Wires announced a 'TrumpCoin' ( DJT sticker) associated with Trump himself and runs on the Solana blockchain. On the other hand, there is also a 'Save America' token with a DJT ticker on the Ethereum blockchain associated with the pro-Trump project, PoliFi.

Shkreli's support sparked a big stake in the crypto community. influential trader GiranticRebirth (GCR), a Trump supporter, is betting 100 million US Dollars (Rp1.6 trillion) that Trump has no connection with the Solana token. This is in response to an initial bet of 1 million US Dollars (Rp16.3 billion) from another trader who claims otherwise.

Shkreli's online post, which refers to a 1 million US dollar bet, is further heating up the situation among large crypto holders, often called paus. GCR suspects that these whales may be planning to increase token value. He argues that the legitimate Trump token will only be credible if Trump himself announces it.
