JAKARTA - An interbank payment transaction company has reportedly received investment from Indonesian technology giant Gojek. LinkAja managed to raise more than 100 million US dollars.

Launching Tech in Asia, LinkAja will be present in the Gojek application as a new payment method. Not only that, users will also be able to make transactions to get Gojek services from the LinkAja application.

This cooperation is due to the existing ties between Gojek and LinkAja in payment methods and transportation bookings. LinkAja said that they are now focusing on payments for retail, daily necessities and public services in the country.

Meanwhile, Gojek, through its GoPay, has served retail and various businesses in RI, especially from MSME business players and their main services.

"With LinkAja as a strategic partner, we hope to reach more consumers and businesses of various business scales, as well as provide them with additional convenience and comfort in transactions," said Gojek CEO Andre Soelistyo.

Currently another ride-hailing startup, Grab, which has already poured funds into LinkAja, is still leading the collection of funds in the Series B round. This gives Grab access to various payment opportunities in RI, including toll payments, trains, and so on.

"The strategic collaboration between LinkAja and our ecosystem, which includes partners such as Ovo and Tokopedia, will enable us to deliver non-cash services to all Indonesians in a way that is reliable, comfortable, and easily accessible," said Neneng Goenadi, Managing Director of Grab Indonesia.
