JAKARTA - Meta plans to reduce the minimum age of its Quest Virtual Reality (VR) headset, from 13 years to 10 years.
Parents can create and manage accounts on Meta Horizon for 10-year-olds in the Meta Quest 2 and Quest 3 headsets starting later this year.
Parents' profiles will be automatically adjusted to personal, meaning other users will not be able to enter the prerejuvenation without their consent or their parents.
Prejuvene cannot change the privacy and security suit by default, only parents can. The company will also give parents control over apps downloaded by prejuveles from app stores.
"When parents share our prerejuvenation age, we will use this information to provide age-appropriate experiences across our app stores. For example, we will only recommend age-appropriate applications," Meta said in its official blog, reported Saturday, June 17.
The tech giant owned by Mark Zuckerberg embraces the Entertainment Software Ratings Board (ESRB) and the International Age Rating Coalition (IARC) to assess interesting and educational applications for ages 10 and over.
"All apps will have product description pages that provide information about what data is collected and how the data can be used, whether the app has social features or age ratings," said Meta.

Meta insists, not showing ads for that age group. Parents can also choose whether their child's data will be used to improve their experience, or they can delete their child's account, including all the data associated with it.
Currently, technology companies with VR products, including Meta, are under pressure from United States (US) lawmakers not to market their services to younger users.
It comes because of its impact on young users, including their potential to endanger teens' mental health or bring them to harmful content, as quoted by CNN International.
