Former OnePlus Founder Carl Pei Wants To Announce Brand New Mobile On January 27

JAKARTA - Last October, the former founder of OnePlus, Carl Pei announced he was leaving the company after 7 years at the helm. Pei also reasoned to start his own business.

In December, he revealed that his new startup has raised $ 7 million from investors that include renowned YouTuber Casey Neistat, former vice president of Apple and the man behind the iPod, Tony Fadell.

Now, Pei, on his Twitter account has announced that he will announce his new brand on the 27th of this month. In addition, Carl will also give away 10 units of the 2020 edition of the MacBook Air, which are supported by the M1 chipset.

The free giveaway is open to people from all over the world and winners will be selected and announced on January 31st.

In an interview, Carl hinted that his future venture will tackle audio-related products, although that could change at a later date as the company will continue to expand its portfolio as they grow bigger.

The venture will likely involve producing and licensing music, hosting his own streaming platform, developing a smart line of personal audio equipment, and much more.

For the rest, Carl has not disclosed anything about his upcoming venture, but he has opened job vacancies in Bangalore, London and Stockholm. He also revealed that his upcoming venture will be headquartered in London, England.

Carl, along with Pete Lau, founded OnePlus in 2013 and also played a key role in presenting the Nord series. OnePlus Nord, which was officially launched in July 2020, was successful and even sold out in various regions.
