Twitter Officially Turns Supply Follows Brand Into Subscriptions

JAKARTA - Twitter has officially changed the brand from the "Super Follows" feature, which allows you to subscribe to one of your Twitter users to get exclusive content, to just "Subscriptions".

Twitter owner Elon Musk promoted the feature on Thursday, April 13, and noted that you can find it in the "Monetization" settings section.

"Applied to offer your followers any material subscriptions, from text of length to video for hours! Just tap "Monetization" in the setting," Musk wrote in his tweet on Twitter.

Launched in 2021, the name of the Super Follows feature has now officially changed to Subscriptions. There is no change in the function of this feature, you can both charge users so they can access things like exclusive tweets, and so on.

Musk noted that you will earn 70 percent of this subscription income for iOS and Android users. While on the web, you may get approximately 92 percent of your income.

"For the next 12 months, Twitter will not save that money. You will receive whatever money we receive, so 70% for subscriptions on iOS & Android (cost setting 30%) and ~92% on the web (can be better, depending on the payment processor)," he explained further.

Musk also said that Android and iOS users may be charged 30 percent for subscriptions in the first year, but that imposition will drop to 15 percent after that.

"We will also help promote your work. Our goal is to maximize the prosperity of creators. At any time, you can leave our platform and bring your work along. Easy to get in, easy to get out," Musk concluded.

The condition for monetizing your account is that it must be over 28 years old, with at least 500 followers, and posting 25 tweets in the last 30 days. You can offer a monthly subscription at a price of 2.99 US dollars (IDR 47 thousand), 4.99 US dollars (IDR 78 thousand), or 9.99 US dollars (IDR 156 thousand).
