Things You Need To Know About The Samsung Galaxy S21

JAKARTA - Samsung will soon launch its newest flagship smartphone. The successor to the Galaxy S20 will be exhibited at the Galaxy unpacked event on January 14, tonight.

Launching The Verge page, the physical leak of the Samsung Galaxy S21 is back. This time the Twitter account @We_The_Techies shows the physical design of Samsung's latest flagship phone.

As is known, Samsung often carries several models for its flagship series. This time the Galaxy S21 variant will be divided into regular, plus to ultra models.

The @We_The_Techies account also mentions that the Galaxy S21 Ultra has a thick side, with two different color tones. However, given the rumored specs, that might not be that surprising.

Unfortunately, @We_The_Techies did not provide complete specifications regarding the three series of the Galaxy S21. He only revealed how the cellphone would look like.

From rumors, the regular Galaxy S21 will have a 6.2-inch screen, for the Galaxy S21 Plus with 6.7 inches. As for the Galaxy S21 Ultra, it appears the most jumbo at 6.8 inches. All three will use an FHD + display and support for a refresh rate of 120 Hz.

Samsung is still preparing two chipsets for the three variants of the Galaxy S21 depending on the target market. Surely the new cellphone will come with a new processor from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 888 or powered by the Exynos 2100.

The Galaxy S21 battery sector is equipped with 4000 mAh, while the brothers use 4,800 mAh and 5,000 mAh for the Galaxy S21 Plus and Galaxy S21 Ultra. The three phones are also confirmed to support the 5G network, but there is a special variant for the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G.

On the back, there will be three cameras for the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus, namely 12MP main camera + 12MP Ultra-wide + 64MP telephoto. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 Ultra has 108MP as the main lens, 12MP Ultra-wide and the optimal 3X and 10x sensors, each of 10MP.

The regular Galaxy S21 will have more color choices, namely Phantom Violet, Phantom Pink, Phantom Gray and Phantom White. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S21 Plus comes with Phantom Silver, Phantom Black and Phantom Violet, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra has Phantom Black and Phantom Violet colors.

Galaxy S21 5G variant

Quoting Neowin, Roland Quandt also received a number of leaks of information from the German Samsung website. He confirmed several rumors about the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G model.

Including rumors that the Galaxy S21 will be equipped with the S Pen which was previously only embedded in the Note series. The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G will also offer a 6.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED display that has been covered with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

And unlike the new flagship devices that offer high screen refresh rates at the expense of higher display resolutions, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G can handle 120Hz refresh rates and WQHD + display settings at the same time.

Also, the screen refresh rate on the Galaxy S21 phones can adapt from 10Hz to 120Hz depending on the content. The screen also has a peak brightness of up to 1,500 nits, higher than the Galaxy S20 series. Also supported by Samsung's recently launched Exynos 2100 SoC.

In terms of its photographic capabilities, the S21 Ultra 5G features a quad-camera setup on the back which consists of a 108MP main sensor with 12MP non-binning technology, and combines up to nine pixels to capture sufficient light even at night. Semha main camera and front camera, can also record video in 4K, a first on a Galaxy device.

The device also supports Wi-Fi 6E for high bandwidth and faster internet connections. Other features include ultra-wideband (UWB) capabilities to unlock car doors or locate lost devices, as well as being equipped with UWB via SmartThings Find.

Questioning the price, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G costs US $ 1,518 for the 12GB / 128GB variant, while the 12GB / 256GB configuration is around US $ 1,579 and the 16GB / 512GB variant costs US $ 1,737. The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is available in Phantom Silver and Phantom Black colors.
