Follow In OpenAI's Footsteps, Google Gives Developers Access To PaLM And Other Advanced AI Equipment

JAKARTA - Google has a large language model or Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based NGO dubbed PaLM, and can now be accessed by developers.

The tech giant launched the API for PaLM, dubbed MakerSuite along with a number of tools from the AI company that will help businesses generate text, images, codes, videos, audio, and more on simple natural language requests.

"With MakerSuite, you will be able to repeat your request, add your dataset with synthetic data, and customize the model easily," the company said in an official release.

Google says such improvements are needed to create a consumer-friendly AI system, even useful in browsers, with training work and intensive implementation of computing handled by Google Cloud.

PaLM is similar to the GPT series created by OpenAI or Meta's LLAMA model family. Google first announced the PaLM in April 2022.

Like other NGOs, PaLM is a flexible system that has the potential to make all types of text and editing tasks.

PaLM can be trained into chatbots of conversations such as ChatGPT, perform tasks such as summarizing text or even writing code.

In addition to launching API PaLM, quoted from The Verge, Wednesday, March 15, Google is also expanding its generative AI support on its Vertex AI platform, which is designed to help businesses train and implement machine learning models.

Vertex will have access to more models built by Google Research and its AI subsidiary DeepMind, and could enter a third-party open-source system in the future.

Finally, Google also launched a new platform called Generative AI App Builder. This platform, it says the company can use developers to quickly deliver new experiences including bots, chat interfaces, special research machines, digital assistants, and more.

"Developers have API access to Google's basic model and can use built-in templates to start creating gene applications in minutes or hours," Google said.

By presenting API PaLM and all the AI tools, Google can provide more companies with the opportunity to build new AI language services in the same way as OpenAI language APIs. This means that PaLM is another machine that will trigger the development of new AI in 2023.
