Video On YouTube Causes Several Pixel Crash And Reboot Phones

JAKARTA - Several Pixel phones reportedly had problems watching videos on certain YouTubes, as reported by Android Authority. When those who got into trouble tried to watch the video, their phone immediately turned off and rebooted.

Some users also reported cellular network problems afterwards, but the problem can be fixed after rebooting.

In a thread on Reddit, some users reported experiencing this problem on the Pixel 7, Pixel 7 Pro, Pixel 6, Pixel 6 Pro, and Pixel 6A phones, and one of the Verge Pixel 6 staff also crashed while trying to watch the video.

However, this problem doesn't seem to affect everyone. Android expert Shalizal Rahman said that his Pixel 6 Pro didn't crash, while others in Reddit's thread said their Pixel could watch the video.

The video itself, which is two years old, is a scene from Alien's classic science fiction horror film available in 4K HDR. While VOI doesn't recommend watching it if you're using one of the phones that might be affected, here's a link to the video.

It's not clear what caused the crash, and many have contacted Google for comment. However, some have speculated that this is due to the way Pixel handles colors, which are also the cause of certain wallpapers that can cause crashes on some Android phones.

So far, Pixel phones are able to handle video playback well and smoothly, especially in high-quality videos such as 4K HDR. Pixel has qualified hardware and software specifications to process and play video smoothly and in clear detail.

For video specifications available on Pixel, most standard video formats such as MP4, 3GP, AVI, MOV, and MKV can be played on Pixel phones. In addition, Pixel is also able to play high-quality videos such as 4K and HDR, as long as the video is compatible with the supported Pixel screen format.
