Meta Releases A Report On Integrity And Content Transparency Efforts

JAKARTA - Meta released its fourth quarter of 2022 report, providing updates on various integrity efforts, including removing infringing content, overcoming enemy threats, providing transparency to content, and summarizing the work of the Supervisory Board.

In this threat report, Meta said it had disabled three networks, which violated company policies against coordinated inauthentic behavior (CIB) and mass reporting (or coordinated coarse reporting).

Community Standard Enforcement Report

In the fourth quarter, Meta continues to make progress in removing content that violates its Community Standards with relatively consistent prevalence in various area of violation.

Meta has also updated its AI system by combining several models, so as to enhance or adapt proactive detection technologies, in many ways, leading to increased accuracy.

Supervisory Board Quartal Update

The Supervisory Board is a valuable source from an external perspective and accountability for Meta that people can put forward if they disagree with content enforcement decisions on Facebook and Instagram.

To date, all aspects implemented to all Meta platforms are based on the Supervisory Board's decision. To date, Meta has implemented or explored 78% of its Supervisory Board recommendations.

Over the past two years Meta has admitted that the Supervisory Board has provided a valuable feedback company on policies and processes on its platform that have brought real change.

Thanks to feedback from the Supervisory Board as well, Meta shared more details about the company's steps to update Facebook's penalty system.

Under the new system, Meta will focus on helping people understand the reasons they delete content, which has proven more effective at preventing repeated violations, than limiting the user's ability to post quickly.

"We are still removing infringing content as we did before, but now we are also giving people the opportunity to change their behavior while continuing to apply tougher penalties for tougher offenses," explains Meta.

The content includes content on terrorism, exploitation of children, human trafficking, serious suicide of promotion, sexual exploitation, non-medical drug sales, or promotion of harmful individuals and organizations.
