Elon Musk Will Make Twitter A Cian Content Creator, Similar To Youtube!

JAKARTA - Elon Musk's Chief Executive Officer (CEO) wants to make its microblogging site like YouTube. This will be a promising source of money for content creators.

Musk wants Twitter to start sharing ad revenue with content creators on his social media, saying, "Starting today, Twitter will share ad revenue with creators for ads that appear in their reply threads," Musk tweeted on his official Twitter account @elonmusk.

That is, if the creator has an ad that appears in the reply to the tweet, the company will share a discounted revenue generated from the ads with them.

Musk added, for creators to get paid, they have to subscribe to Twitter Blue, the company's paid subscription service with a myriad of premium features, but the main thing is the verification badge that everyone wants.

"In order to qualify, the account must be a Twitter Blue Verified customer," Musk explained.

Twitter Blue is currently charged $8, equivalent to IDR 120 thousand per month if it registers via the company's website, but the price rises to USD 11 equivalent to IDR 166 thousand per month if users register via the iOS or Android app.

Twitter took a cut that Apple and Google took for purchases made through the App Store and Play Store, as well as forwarding it to their customers.

Of course, this is good news for content creators on Twitter, however, it's not clear how much money they can actually expect.

Because launching BGR, Saturday, February 4, Musk has not said what kind of cuts the company wants to share with content creators over advertising revenue.

Moreover, it is not known for sure how much advertising revenue is currently on Twitter, as the company has been abandoned by its advertisers since its acquisition by Musk last year, and now they are struggling to win over many advertisers.

Not long ago, the company offered free advertising ads to some advertising partners. Previously, the Company had also introduced several features in recent years to help content creators earn money, including Super Follows, Ticketed Spaces and special monetization dashboards.
